Job opportunity: Interpretative writer required

Llanthony Secunda Priory is seeking an experienced writer of interpretative material to help provide a single ‘voice’ across our interpretation. This will include the following:

  • External and internal interpretation signs and panels
  • Website content
  • Two trail leaflets

Experience required:

The successful candidate will be an experienced writer who has already worked with other heritage sites and who has a gift for presenting information clearly, interestingly, accessibly all underpinned by a passion for communicating history to every age, every interest and every culture.

Work begins on site February 20, 2017

Following the appointment of Croft Building and Conservation Ltd as the main contractor, conservation and restoration work started on site in January 2017. The work is expected to take 18 months to complete

Volunteering clearing begins again on site February 13, 2017

The first volunteering day of the year took place in the grounds on Saturday. Eight volunteers braved the sleet and snow to cut back willow from around the pond, prune shrubs, clear brambles, pick up litter and scrape back the verges of the main pathway.
